On Friday and Saturday, a strike of public transport employees is taking place across the country. In Dortmund, during these two days, movement on all metro lines, bus routes, and the H-Bahn suspended railway has been completely stopped, as reported by the Dortmund municipal service (DSW21). This coincided with the weekend when Borussia Dortmund hosts Bayern in the presence of 81,365 spectators for a Bundesliga match.
In this regard, Borussia recommended that fans of both teams allow more time for the journey to the Signal Iduna Park stadium, all tickets for which are already sold out. The start of the meeting is scheduled for Saturday at 6:30 PM. Fans of the Munich club arriving by Deutsche Bahn trains (whose employees are not participating in the strike) should get off at the Dortmund main station. From there, according to the hosts, the arena can be reached on foot in about 40 minutes.
Recommendations for using taxis and electric scooters
The Dortmund club warned against traveling on regional trains to the Signal Iduna Park stop or on suburban electric trains (S-Bahn) to the Möllerbrücke station. In these cases, capacity limits will be reached very quickly, the organization emphasized. As reported on the official Bayern page, fans arriving from Munich should, if possible, use taxi services or other transportation services on site. As an alternative, a ride on bicycles or electric scooters was proposed.Motorists can park at the Technical University of Dortmund, on the Phoenix-West territory, at the vocational training center in Hacheney, or at the Hörde station. From these areas, the path to the stadium on foot will take from 30 to 45 minutes. Borussia did not advise heading to parking lots A to F directly at the arena without a pre-purchased voucher. On the day of the game, the sale of parking permits will not be carried out.
