Olympic Stadium renovation cast doubt on Superbloom 2026

Since 2022, Superbloom has held a permanent place in Munich's event calendar, but the project's future long remained uncertain. The primary reason for discussions was the unavailability of the main venue.

The question of whether Superbloom would take place this year has drawn active interest in recent months. On Wednesday, the organizers of the festival, traditionally held in Munich at the end of summer, limited themselves to a brief social media message, confirming the intention to hold the event in 2026. Similar plans were voiced back in September last year, but since then, official notifications were absent: contrary to practice, participants have not yet been presented and ticket sales have not begun.

Technical blocking of the arena and search for alternatives

A critical factor was the closure of the Olympic Stadium, where the main stage complexes were previously located. Due to a major overhaul, the facility has been out of operation since autumn 2025. According to forecasts from the city administration and the company Olympiapark München GmbH, the resumption of mass events at the arena is possible no earlier than the end of summer 2028, with complete finishing of works scheduled for 2029.

Back in 2025, the organizers characterized the then-festival as the last for an indefinite period on this territory. Information on which location will be used during the construction work period has not yet been presented. The published text only contained a promise to provide news in the coming weeks and a request for the audience to show patience.
