Winterworld opens on 7 November and runs until 18 December. Visitors can spend the pre-Christmas weeks among market stalls, wooden huts and a variety of entertainment. In 2026 the market will take place for the fourth time.
Winterworld in Freimann: a new concept and different opening hours
This year the organisers have expanded the Wintervillage concept. According to the market’s website, it is meant to add still more cosiness and winter charm. Four lanes for Eisstock (Bavarian curling) have been prepared for group play. In addition, the market will feature stalls selling Christmas goods, food courts and mulled wine kiosks.
For companies and corporate parties, bookable venues are once again available, as before:
- chalets for 20, 40 or 60 people;
- a “cosy cabin” (Kuschelhütte) for 10 people;
- Meckatzer Alm for 200 guests.
Booking is already available online.
The opening hours have changed this year:
- Tuesday to Thursday: 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm;
- Friday: 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm;
- Saturday: 11:00 am to 11:00 pm;
- Sunday and public holidays: 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.
The market is closed on Mondays. It will also be closed on the days of remembrance: 15 November (Volkstrauertag, the national day of mourning), 18 November (Buß- und Bettag, the day of repentance and prayer) and 22 November (Totensonntag, the Sunday of the Dead).
