Starting October 27, the Moldovan airline Fly One will add the route to its winter schedule. Three times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 9:30 a.m.—an Airbus A320 will depart from Munich Airport bound for Bucharest. The flight to Henri Coandă International Airport takes around two hours and ten minutes. Tickets are available starting at 29 euros.
In addition to the new Bucharest service, Fly One already operates a direct route from Munich to the Moldovan capital, Chișinău.
Bucharest is often referred to as the “Little Paris” or the “Paris of the East,” a nod to its many 20th-century buildings inspired by the French capital. Among its most notable landmarks are the Arcul de Triumf, Revolution Square, the Palace of the Parliament, and the Romanian Athenaeum—considered one of the city’s most architecturally impressive structures.
Currently, Lufthansa is the only airline serving the Munich–Bucharest route, with several daily flights. Shortly after Fly One launches its service in late October, another carrier will join: starting November 5, the Romanian airline Animawings will also operate flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to Henri Coandă International Airport.
