Life-Threatening Incidents at Icking S-Bahn Station: Emergency Brake Triggered After Track Trespassing

Two alarming incidents occurred on Monday evening at the Icking S-Bahn station (district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen), where the actions of two women put not only themselves but also other passengers in serious danger.

Both are now facing criminal charges for endangering rail traffic.

Intoxicated Woman Wanders Onto Tracks – Police Intervene

Around 6:00 p.m., police were alerted by concerned witnesses that a woman had entered the railway tracks. The 36-year-old from Wolfratshausen, reportedly heavily intoxicated, was wandering disoriented between the rails at Icking station. Deutsche Bahn responded immediately by halting traffic on the affected tracks to prevent a possible tragedy.

Witnesses were eventually able to persuade the woman to leave the danger zone. Due to her condition, a doctor was called to the scene, and she was later transported to a hospital by emergency services.

Just Minutes Later: Elderly Woman Forces S-Bahn to Emergency Stop

Only moments after the track closure was lifted, a second incident followed. An 86-year-old local resident from Icking crawled under a lowered barrier and unlawfully entered the tracks—apparently unaware of the imminent danger. An S-Bahn already at the platform sounded its warning horn, while another train from Wolfratshausen was rapidly approaching on the same track.

“The driver had to perform an emergency stop,” reported Chief Inspector Alexander Möckl of the Wolfratshausen Police Department. “The train came to a halt just a few meters in front of her.”

Police officers removed the elderly woman from the tracks and questioned her about her behavior. Her response caused astonishment: she claimed she had “always done it this way.” Nevertheless, she too is now facing legal action for endangering rail operations.

Police Issue Urgent Warning Against Entering Tracks

Fortunately, no injuries occurred during either incident. Still, the police emphasized the seriousness of such behavior. Entering train tracks is strictly prohibited and can have fatal consequences—for both the trespassers and innocent passengers on board.

“The risk from this kind of reckless behavior is extreme. A tragedy could happen at any moment,” warned Inspector Möckl. Authorities are urging all citizens to strictly follow rail safety regulations.
