What might initially have seemed like a road accident is now being studied by investigators from a specific angle: law enforcement authorities suspect that the car driver intentionally struck his opponent after a prolonged conflict.
Events at Harras Square developed rapidly. According to the latest data, a 50-year-old man, during a sharp quarrel, hit a 59-year-old dispute participant with his vehicle, causing him severe injuries. An emergency service immediately began work at the scene, urgently transporting the victim to one of the city clinics. The alleged perpetrator chose not to wait for the police and fled the scene in his car; however, he did not manage to escape justice — during operational measures approximately three hours later, he was detained.
Conflict in Munich escalated: details of the road drama
The reconstructed picture of the incident indicates that the collision was preceded by a verbal altercation. At the end of the conflict, the 50-year-old participant got behind the wheel, apparently intending to leave the scene. It was at this moment that his 59-year-old counterpart ended up under the wheels of the car. The investigation must establish a critically important fact: whether this maneuver was a fatal accident or an intentional act of aggression. Officers from the specialized commissariat, whose competence covers the most serious crimes against life, have already been involved in clarifying the circumstances.
The incident site required a thorough forensic examination and evidence collection. In this regard, Plinganserstraße in the Harras area was temporarily completely closed in both directions. Such radical security measures caused a transport collapse and significant traffic difficulties throughout the district. The detained man’s vehicle was seized and placed in an impound lot for necessary technical research.
Criminal police work and victim’s condition
Law enforcement representatives confirmed that at the moment there are strong reasons to believe that the collision was intentional. Medics characterize the victim’s condition as stable: despite the serious nature of the injuries, there is no immediate threat to his life. Nevertheless, detectives from the 11th Criminal Police Commissariat, which specializes in the investigation of murders and attempted murders, have joined the case. The first reports of street closures in Sendling appeared on Munich police social media as early as 10:33 AM. The department urged drivers to plan detour routes in advance, as investigative actions on Plinganserstraße required complete isolation of the section. After the driver was detained and all evidence recorded, traffic in the Harras area was restored, but the investigation itself is only gaining momentum to determine the final legal qualification of the 50-year-old Munich resident’s actions.
