In an effort to combat the ongoing shortage of skilled workers, Deutsche Bahn is organizing an extraordinary recruitment event on Germany’s highest mountain.

On 26 July 2025, the company will conduct job interviews on the Zugspitze summit, 2,962 meters above sea level, offering not only career opportunities but also panoramic views of the Alps.

Deutsche Bahn is reaching out especially to career changers and students interested in apprenticeships or positions as train drivers or customer service agents. The job opportunities are focused on the company’s regional operations in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Murnau, and Weilheim.

The event will feature 20 exclusive spots for selected applicants. Those invited will participate in personal interviews while enjoying a journey to the highest point in the country—a literal career summit with a breathtaking backdrop.

Due to the persistent lack of qualified personnel, Deutsche Bahn is exploring innovative ways to connect with potential employees. A company spokesperson told the editorial team: “Like many other companies, we are facing a shortage of skilled workers. That is why we are combining modern technology with creative recruitment strategies and direct engagement with future staff.”

The Zugspitze event is part of Deutsche Bahn’s larger hiring campaign, with the company aiming to recruit around 20,000 new employees in 2025. By hosting interviews in such an eye-catching setting, the company hopes to draw attention to the open positions and stand out in the competitive labor market.

Application Deadline Is 24 July and Travel Costs Will Be Covered

Those interested in joining Deutsche Bahn can apply to participate in the Zugspitze recruitment event until 24 July. The event will begin on 26 July at 9:00 a.m. in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and continue until 4:00 p.m. During this time, applicants will have the chance to meet with DB recruiters in a truly extraordinary setting.

Deutsche Bahn will cover all travel expenses for participants. More information about how to register and view current job openings is available on the company’s official careers page.
