The construction will unfold in multiple phases, involving full road closures, detours, and long-term lane restrictions that will affect traffic both within and beyond the town limits.
Full Closure of Putzbrunner Straße Begins 21 July
Putzbrunner Straße (county road M 22) will be completely closed between the intersection of Cramer-Klett-Straße and Uhlandstraße heading toward Ottobrunn town center. The closure is scheduled to begin on Monday, 21 July, and continue through Friday, 25 July. The reason for the shutdown is the replacement of an underground water main, carried out on behalf of the Municipality of Ottobrunn.
During this time, traffic in both directions will be rerouted along a marked detour via Uhlandstraße, Karl-Stieler-Straße, Ottostraße, and Mozartstraße, and vice versa. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and to allow for longer travel times due to the expected congestion.
One-Way Traffic on Cramer-Klett-Straße from 28 July as Construction Moves Forward
Once the initial construction phase on Putzbrunner Straße is complete, work will shift to Cramer-Klett-Straße beginning Monday, 28 July. This phase is expected to last until Thursday, 14 August, and involves the continued installation of the water line from the junction at Putzbrunner Straße to Hohenbrunner Straße. During this period, Cramer-Klett-Straße will be converted into a one-way street in the direction from Ottobrunn toward Neubiberg.
Importantly, traffic will still be allowed to travel from Putzbrunner Straße toward Neubiberg. However, vehicles coming from Neubiberg heading to Ottobrunn will be diverted along a wide detour that includes Hauptstraße, Äußere Hauptstraße, county road M 12, Alte Landstraße, and Rosenheimer Landstraße, eventually reconnecting with Putzbrunner Straße.
Road Resurfacing Follows Immediately with One-Way Rule Remaining in Effect
Immediately following the completion of the water line installation, the municipality will begin the next construction phase: a full resurfacing of Cramer-Klett-Straße. The repaving will affect the section between the Putzbrunner Straße intersection and the junction with Hohenbrunner Straße. According to current planning, this roadwork is expected to be completed by Friday, 12 September.
During this period, the one-way traffic pattern from Ottobrunn to Neubiberg will remain in place, as will the established detours. Public transportation services will also be affected, with bus routes being rerouted and temporary replacement stops set up for the duration of the works.
The Municipality of Ottobrunn has asked all road users for their patience and understanding regarding the disruptions and has recommended that drivers check current detour routes in advance to minimize inconvenience.
