One of the most anticipated events of the year, the Riesenflohmarkt at Theresienwiese, is set to take place on Saturday, April 26. From 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, thousands of bargain hunters and collectors will gather near the Bavaria statue in search of rare finds and affordable treasures.
Around 2,500 vendors are expected to participate, offering a wide range of goods — from antiques and vintage items to everyday household objects. As the largest flea market in Bavaria, it spans an area of approximately 80,000 square meters and coincides with the Frühlingsfest, Munich’s spring festival, which also takes place at Theresienwiese.
The event is traditionally organized by the Bavarian Red Cross (Bayerisches Rotes Kreuz), and entry is free for visitors. Vendor registration began in early March, allowing ample time for interested sellers to secure a spot.
In addition to this major event, the Bavarian Red Cross continues to oversee regular flea markets held in Olympiapark. These take place every Friday and Saturday at the Parkharfe parking area near the Olympiastadion, except on public holidays and during large-scale events in the park. Organizers provide food stalls and sanitation facilities to ensure a comfortable experience for attendees.
The Hofflohmärkte — neighborhood courtyard flea markets — are also ongoing across various districts in Munich. Held on weekends, these markets offer a unique chance to discover hidden corners of the city while browsing for one-of-a-kind items. Each weekend, a different neighborhood transforms into an open-air marketplace, with residents using their private courtyards as selling spaces. The Hofflohmärkte season runs through November, and anyone wishing to participate as a seller can register online.
