A tragic accident near Sylvensteinsee has claimed the life of a 30-year-old motorcyclist from Berlin.

Motorcyclist Loses Control in Curve and Crashes into Tree Near Lenggries

The fatal accident occurred on Friday afternoon on county road Töl24 near Vorderriß, close to Munich. According to police reports, four motorcyclists were riding towards Eng when two of them lost control independently while navigating the first left-hand curve after Vorderriß. Speed and unfamiliarity with the route are believed to have contributed to the loss of control.

A 26-year-old rider on a BMW bike narrowly escaped serious injury by jumping off his motorcycle just in time, suffering only minor hand injuries. His companion, a 30-year-old Berliner riding an Aprilia, was not as fortunate. He veered off the road and crashed head-on into a tree before being thrown from his bike.

Despite Quick Rescue Efforts, Rider Succumbs to Injuries in Hospital

Emergency services, including fire brigades from Fall and Vorderriß, police units, and paramedics, arrived swiftly at the scene. The injured man was airlifted to a hospital by rescue helicopter. However, the severity of his injuries proved too great, and he passed away later that night.

The local police estimated the total property damage at approximately €7,000.

The Sylvensteinsee region has been the site of multiple serious motorcycle accidents in recent years. Just a month earlier, a 22-year-old Austrian rider lost his life in a similar crash in the same area. This latest fatality marks the second deadly motorcycle accident in the region this season.
