Munich Airport introduces dedicated Uber pick-up zones

Travel from the Munich air hub to the city is becoming clearer and more comfortable.

The Uber ride-hailing service has been integrated for passengers at Munich Airport. Dedicated pick-up points have now been opened in the immediate vicinity of the arrival zones. This innovation eliminates the need for travelers to search for the correct vehicle in general multi-level parking lots and simplifies logistics immediately after landing.

The Munich Airport management plans to further strengthen cooperation with the service. Special areas, named Pick-up Zonen, have already been established in both terminals. Thanks to this approach, arriving passengers can quickly book a ride through the app without leaving the building and head straight to the meeting point with the driver via the shortest path.

Company representatives noted on Monday, March 16, 2026, that the new locations are within walking distance of the arrival halls. The entire journey from baggage claim to entering the vehicle takes a tourist about five minutes. To eliminate any difficulties in finding the way, information signs are placed throughout the terminal building, and an updated navigation system has been activated in the mobile app itself, guiding the user to the correct point in real time.

Timely service for the start of the holidays

The project was launched at a crucial moment — just in time for the Easter holidays. During this period, a sharp increase in passenger traffic is traditionally recorded, and the presence of an organized ride-hailing system will help avoid transport congestion at the entrances. Now, in Terminals 1 and 2, the process of moving from the aircraft to the car seat will take only a few minutes, which is especially important for families with children and business travelers who value their time and convenience.According to the carrier’s data, Munich has become the fourth major German aviation hub to implement such a concept. Similar stations are already successfully functioning at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER), as well as in Düsseldorf and Frankfurt am Main. Practice shows that dedicated zones not only increase convenience for customers but also contribute to an overall reduction in the load on the transport infrastructure of station areas by effectively separating the flows of private and commercial transport.
