At approximately 2:37 a.m., the building’s fire detection system was triggered in the boarding facility located on Henschelstraße. Emergency responders arrived promptly with a command vehicle, a fire engine, and a turntable ladder. Thanks to the alarm system, firefighters quickly pinpointed the source of the alert.
Upon opening the door to the affected unit, which was sealed against smoke, responders were met with a thick cloud of smoke. Wearing breathing apparatus, they entered the apartment and discovered a man lying unconscious on the floor. He was immediately carried to safety.
Suspected Smoke Inhalation Leads to Hospitalization
While the man was being rescued, other firefighters tackled a small fire that had broken out in the kitchen area of the apartment. Emergency medical personnel provided initial treatment at the scene before transporting the victim to a nearby Munich hospital with suspected smoke inhalation.
To ventilate the unit and clear it of residual smoke, firefighters deployed a high-performance fan. The apartment was safely aired out and secured.
Authorities have not yet released information regarding the extent of property damage. The site was handed over to the police for further investigation into the cause of the fire.
