On Sunday, December 14, this year’s nationwide timetable change for buses and trains will take place. This occasion is also being used in the area covered by the Central Swabia Transport Association (Verkehrsverbund Mittelschwaben GmbH) to implement schedule adjustments. These apply to public transport lines in the districts of Günzburg and Unterallgäu, as well as within the city of Memmingen.
A note for Günzburg city transport: the “Dillinger Straße” stop has been replaced by the central stop “Marktplatz/Augsburger Straße.” An hourly service to and from Günzburg station is provided via line 856.
On the website, changes to urban and regional buses within the VVM zone can be reviewed. Passengers can also obtain public transport information for the association’s area by calling the VVM mobility center at 08282/828700.
According to the Günzburg District Administration, the aims of the adjustments include further improving transport conditions for school pupils. Feedback from a recent survey on transport for secondary school students served as a key basis for this. The Günzburg district has organized public transport jointly with the Unterallgäu district since 1996 and, since November 2020, with the independent city of Memmingen through the Verkehrsverbund Mittelschwaben GmbH. The VVM is a mixed association, as it includes both public authorities and transport companies. Approximately 96 lines with around 1,000 stops operate within the VVM network.
