The maintenance is being carried out by Stadtwerke München (SWM) in collaboration with the Munich Transport Corporation (MVG). Because of the construction, only one track will be available for train traffic at this location, affecting normal service operations.
How the U-Bahn Lines U2 and U8 Will Operate on August 9 and 10:
U2 Line: From the start of service on Saturday, August 9, until the end of service on Sunday, August 10, the U2 line will be split into two separate segments:
Northern section:
Trains will run between Feldmoching and Scheidplatz, using platform 3 at Scheidplatz.
Southern section:
Trains will operate between Messestadt Ost and Scheidplatz, using platform 4 at Scheidplatz.
Passengers who need to travel beyond Scheidplatz in either direction will be required to transfer at Scheidplatz, using the mezzanine level to switch between platforms.
At both Milbertshofen and Hohenzollernplatz stations, trains in both directions will operate from the same track, as the route is operating under single-track conditions due to the construction.
U8 Line:
The U8 line will also be affected and will operate on a reduced route throughout the weekend. Trains will only run between Neuperlach Zentrum and Hauptbahnhof. All other segments of the line will be suspended on both days.
Passenger Information and Travel Recommendations
MVG will be informing passengers of these temporary changes via audio announcements, printed notices, and digital information boards at all affected stations. Travelers are strongly encouraged to check schedules in advance and allow extra travel time.
