According to a police report released on Sunday, April 27, a 48-year-old worker was seriously injured but managed to call emergency services himself. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
Accident Details: Excavator Breaks Through Roof
Demolition work was underway at the site, involving several garages. Police stated that the 48-year-old operator was maneuvering a small tracked excavator over the roof of one of the garages when he crossed a weak spot between two support segments. The roof gave way, causing the man and the excavator to plunge several meters to the ground.
Injured Worker Calls for Help
Despite his serious injuries, the worker was able to use his mobile phone to alert emergency services. Police officers and paramedics quickly arrived at the scene. The injured man was transported to a hospital and admitted for treatment. The excavator itself sustained only minor damage in the fall.
