Munich / Moosach – Four people were injured in an accident in Munich when a woman lost control of her car. The incident also caused disruptions and a suspension of service on tram line 20.
Accident on Dachauer Straße in Munich: Woman loses control and hits pedestrians with her car
According to police reports, the 37-year-old Munich resident was driving outbound on Dachauer Straße around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, accompanied by a 16-year-old passenger. For reasons still unknown, she veered to the left off the roadway.
She then drove over the tram tracks, a pedestrian crossing aid, and a low hedge, eventually coming to a stop on the rails.
During the accident, both the 37-year-old driver and her passenger sustained injuries. In addition, a 16-year-old female pedestrian and a 55-year-old male pedestrian were injured by the car and a torn-out railing.
Four injured in the accident and suspension on tram line 20
The ambulance service transported the two injured pedestrians to a hospital for treatment. According to the police, the car occupants did not require medical treatment at the scene.
The car had to be towed away as it was no longer drivable. The estimated property damage amounts to several thousand euros.
According to police, the accident did not pose a danger to rail traffic. However, tram line 20 had to be temporarily suspended during the recovery operations.
