Munich Transport Company to Auction Lost Property Online

The Munich Transport Company (MVG) has announced an online auction for items left behind in public transportation. On February 25, 2026, numerous items forgotten by passengers in the subway, trams, and buses will go under the hammer.

The auction will begin at 11:00 AM and will be broadcast live online. Only items that have remained unclaimed for at least six months will be included in the sale. Bids will be accepted exclusively online, as there will be no in-person event. The auction is organized by Rockmann Industrie-Auktionen.

From Laptops to Robot Vacuums: What’s Up for Bid

The range of items is highly diverse. Among the lots are laptops, smartphones, and toolboxes. Clothing and a stringed musical instrument—a Venezuelan Cuatro—will also be auctioned. Furthermore, the catalog includes jewelry, football fan merchandise, coins, banknotes, and “surprise suitcases.”

More unusual lots include a refurbished robot vacuum cleaner, two mountain bikes, an e-bike, and several wheelchairs. Smaller items, such as umbrellas, are being offered in bundles. Interested bidders can even purchase an entire plastic bag filled with toys from chocolate eggs.

Prospective buyers have the opportunity to inspect the items in person before the auction. The objects are available for viewing until Tuesday, February 24, during the regular operating hours of the MVG Lost and Found Office at Elsenheimerstraße 61 in Munich.
