Full Closure of the Isar Bridge in Grünwald Due to Road Paving Works

In Grünwald, Emil-Geis-Straße between the marketplace and the Isar Bridge will be completely closed for two consecutive weekends.

According to the Munich District Office, the closures are necessary to carry out extensive asphalt paving.

First Phase of Construction in Early September

The first phase of work begins on Friday, September 5, at 8:00 p.m. and will last until midnight on Sunday, September 7. During this period, the southern and western parts of the marketplace, as well as the slope down to the Isar toward Pullach, will be affected. Crossing the Isar will not be possible at this time. Traffic will be diverted via Schäftlarn and Straßlach-Dingharting, and in the north via Munich and the Mittlerer Ring. From Monday onward, the road will reopen to normal traffic.

Second Phase of Construction in Mid-September

The second phase follows from Friday, September 12, at 8:00 p.m. until midnight on Sunday, September 14. The closure will also end on Monday. This time, the northern and eastern sections of the marketplace will be inaccessible. Traffic will be redirected within Grünwald, and all detours will be clearly signposted.

Impact on Public Transport

Public transport will also be affected by the closures. On the first September weekend, MVV bus lines 222 and 271 will be rerouted and will terminate at Derbolfinger Platz in Grünwald. The stops “Höllriegelskreuth (S-Bahn)” and “Isarbrücke” will be canceled without replacement. The “Rathaus” stop can only be served in the direction of Derbolfinger Platz.
