Munich Airport Gains New Direct Connection to Amman

Munich – Spin a globe and point to a destination—from Munich Airport, countless travel possibilities open up.

Whether it’s Cape Town, Punta Cana, or the Canary Islands, ideal sunny destinations are on offer. The summer 2026 flight schedule is now being expanded with a new route, as Munich Airport has announced. This new connection could soon feature in travelers’ itineraries.

This new flight offers travelers the opportunity to discover or visit Jordan. Starting March 27, 2026, the airline Royal Jordanian will once again regularly connect Munich with the Jordanian capital, Amman, as Munich Airport explains. This direct connection, which last existed before the COVID-19 pandemic, is now being reinstated—and will operate three times per week, year-round.

Royal Jordanian will deploy an Airbus A320neo for the route. The connection is intended not only to provide comfortable travel to Amman but also to offer links “to more than 60 destinations in the Middle East, the Gulf, and Asia,” according to Munich Airport.

Karim Makhlouf, Chief Commercial Officer of Royal Jordanian Airlines, sees potential in this new route to develop the European market. “This is an important step in line with our growth strategy to position Jordan as a new, trendy travel destination for the German market,” he explained. He presents the country as a “truly modern, contemporary, and authentic Arabic travel destination.”

“Whether it’s a beach holiday at the Dead Sea or travels to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Petra, to Jerash or Wadi Rum,” Jordan offers German travelers an impressive diversity of experiences, says Oliver Dersch, Senior Vice President Aviation of Flughafen München GmbH. As Munich Airport explains, the resumption of the Munich-Amman route strengthens the bridge between Europe and the Levant region. At the same time, it offers many travelers the chance to experience a fascinating, hospitable culture—just one flight away.
