The “Zamanand” Festival at Odeonsplatz and the “Oben Ohne” Festival at Königsplatz will both result in changes affecting several lines operated by the Munich Transport Corporation (MVG). The MVG has advised passengers to check for updates before starting their journey.
Zamanand Summer Village: Changes Around Odeonsplatz and Ludwigstraße
The “Zamanand Summer Village” will require the closure of Odeonsplatz and parts of Ludwigstraße from Saturday, July 26, at approximately 7:00 in the morning, until Monday, July 28, around 3:00 in the morning. Several MVG bus lines will be rerouted during this time:
Bus line 100: The Odeonsplatz stop will not be served in either direction. In the direction of Ostbahnhof, the Von-der-Tann-Straße stop will be relocated to the street of the same name.
Bus line 153: This line will begin and end at the Universität stop for the duration of the closure. The Von-der-Tann-Straße and Odeonsplatz stops will not be served at all.
NightBus lines N40, N41, and N45: During the night from Sunday, July 27, to Monday, July 28, the Odeonsplatz and Von-der-Tann-Straße stops will be omitted in the direction of Karlsplatz (Stachus). In the direction of Universität, buses will instead stop at Oskar-von-Miller-Ring (line 58).
Oben Ohne Festival at Königsplatz: Additional Closures on Saturday
On Saturday, July 26, the “Oben Ohne” Festival will take place at Königsplatz. The area will be completely closed to traffic, further affecting several bus lines, especially the CityRing, the MVG museum line, and replacement bus lines 27 and N27.
Bus lines 58, 68, and 100: These lines will be rerouted via Augustenstraße from 6:00 in the morning until the end of service on Saturday. The Königsplatz stop will be suspended without replacement.
In the direction of Hauptbahnhof, the Technische Universität stop will also be suspended.
In the direction of the Pinakotheken, the Elisenstraße stop will be temporarily relocated.
Replacement lines 27 and N27: On both Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27, these lines will not serve the Karolinenplatz and Ottostraße stops in the direction of Karlsplatz (Stachus).
MVG Advises Passengers to Plan Ahead and Consider Alternative Routes
Due to the wide-ranging changes, MVG recommends that all passengers—especially those traveling over the weekend—consult the latest updates on MVG’s digital platforms or at affected stops. Those who are able should consider using the underground or tram services to avoid delays and service interruptions in the city center.
