Large-Scale Police Operation Conducted at Nuremberg School Following Report of Armed Student

In a Nuremberg primary and secondary school, a student was spotted who may have been armed. Numerous police officers arrived at the scene.

The police operation at the Nuremberg educational institution has concluded. Earlier, a report was received regarding a supposedly armed student.

Police Cordoned Off the School Building

A departmental spokesperson explained that police officers initially cordoned off the area and prepared to enter the building. Subsequently, support units began searching the premises.

Whether students would have had to evacuate the building depended on the further progress of the investigation. On the social media platform X, law enforcement officials informed parents that they were temporarily unable to collect their children.

Police: “No Shots Were Heard on School Grounds”

The Middle Franconia Police further posted on X: “To date, no threatening actions have been recorded,” and requested that rumors not be spread. Law enforcement also clarified: “For the sake of clarity: no shots were heard on the school grounds.”

Information Regarding the Student’s Possession of a Weapon Under Investigation

Police officers identified the specific individual referred to in the report of a suspected weapon. However, it remained unclear whether the student actually had a dangerous object in their possession, and if so, exactly what kind.

As of the time of the operation, a police spokesperson noted that there was no specific danger to people in the school. Nevertheless, law enforcement proceeded under the assumption that the sought-after student was inside the building.
