A message had been written on one of the pillars, degrading the memorial.
Since the graffiti could not be immediately removed, it was temporarily covered. The damage is estimated at several hundred euros. The Criminal Police Department 43 has opened an investigation on charges of property damage and is asking the public for assistance.
Call for Witnesses
Anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area of the memorial or its surroundings that could be related to the incident is urged to come forward.
