Munich / Schwabing-West – Munich police are investigating two particularly peculiar cases. Firecrackers exploded inside apartments in Schwabing after being thrown through open windows.
Unknown Perpetrator Throws Firecrackers Through Windows in Schwabing Apartments: Duvet Damaged
The first incident occurred on September 7th, around 8 p.m., in an apartment in the area of Deidesheimer Straße. An unknown person threw a firecracker through an open window of the ground-floor apartment.
The Chinese-made firecracker flew into the room and exploded. The pyrotechnics only damaged the duvet and caused minor property damage. No one was in the room at the time of the explosion, so no one was injured.
Similar Case Shortly After in Schwabing: Resident Slightly Injured by Blast
Shortly afterwards, around 8:30 p.m., a similar event happened on Schwere-Reiter-Straße. There, also an unknown person threw a firecracker through the open window of a ground-floor apartment.
The 30-year-old resident was in the room at the time and was slightly injured on his ears by the explosion. The parquet floor was also damaged. Police report minor property damage.
Due to the spatial and temporal proximity, police suspect a connection between the two incidents, as a spokesperson explained upon inquiry by Hallo. Commissariat 13 is conducting the investigation accordingly and is looking for witnesses.
