Preparations for the event begin one week before the official opening, leading to changes in the operation of several MVG bus lines.
According to the Munich Transport Corporation (MVG), the restrictions mainly affect the areas around Odeonsplatz, Leopoldstraße, and Königsplatz. They will apply from Wednesday, September 3, to Thursday, September 18. The following lines are affected:
CityRing 58/68: Detour between Giselastraße and Pinakotheken via Barer Straße and Franz-Joseph-Straße. Towards Hauptbahnhof Nord, the stops “Georgenstraße” to “Maxvorstadt/Sammlung Brandhorst” will be closed. Towards Ostbahnhof, the stops “Oskar-von-Miller-Ring” to “Georgenstraße” will not be served.
Museum Line 100: Detour between Pinakotheken and Königinstraße. Odeonsplatz cannot be served. Towards Hauptbahnhof, the stop “Amalienstraße” will also be skipped.
During the trade fair (Tuesday, September 9, to Sunday, September 14): Additional detours for lines 58/68 and 100 between Pinakotheken and Elisenstraße. The stop “Technische Universität” will be canceled towards Hauptbahnhof, and “Königsplatz” will be skipped in both directions.
Bus 153: Shortened route, operating only between Giesing Bahnhof and Schellingstraße. The stops “Türkenstraße” through “Odeonsplatz” will not be served.
Bus 154: Detour between Giselastraße and Schellingstraße via Franz-Joseph-, Nordend-, and Barer Straße. The stops “Georgenstraße” to “Türkenstraße” will be skipped.
Night buses N40, N41, and N45: Detours between Hohenzollernstraße and Maximiliansplatz via Franz-Joseph-, Nordend-, and Barer Straße. The stops “Georgenstraße” to “Odeonsplatz” will not be served.
