Munich Fire Department Received a Call From a Person Claiming Victory Over Lord Voldemort

The dispatch service of the Munich Fire Department, operating in a round-the-clock safety control mode, regularly receives non-standard and specific calls from the population.

However, this time the rescuers made the decision to publish the official protocol of a conversation that left behind exclusively questions, highlighting the latent problem of the non-targeted loading of critically important city communication lines.

Every citizen who has received a serious injury, encountered a fire, or found themselves in trouble immediately dials the single emergency number 112. This basic safety rule is taught in Germany from early childhood. And yet, there are quite a few people who call rescuers for false, insignificant, or, at least, completely incomprehensible reasons. It is precisely with such a manifestation of civic irresponsibility that the duty officers of the Munich Fire Department have once again collided.

As the dispatch service employees officially reported in their new publication on the social network Instagram, a few days ago they received a call from a resident of Munich. The subsequent telephone conversation turned out to be extremely short, but completely atypical for operational duty officers accustomed to clear regulations.

Disoriented Caller Turned Out to Be a Fan of the Harry Potter Story

The content of the telephone conversation was reproduced by the service employees as follows. Immediately after the duty dispatcher answered the call, the person on the other end of the wire declared in a confident tone: “Hello! I just wanted to briefly report: I have defeated Lord Voldemort.” Then he immediately added: “The comrades are already fully ready in the yard, if anything else is needed.” Obviously caught off guard by such a specific report, the dispatch officer was only able to concisely reply: “Uh… okay. Well, thank you very much.”

The representatives of the fire department have no logical or rational explanation for this strange call. The probability that the main antagonist from the “Harry Potter” fantasy franchise actually secretly visited Munich and was defeated by the caller looks practically zero. It remains unclear whether this call was someone’s bad joke for the sake of drawing attention on social networks, or whether the person was in a state of deep psychological confusion or under the influence of prohibited substances.

Imprisonment Can Threaten for False Calls to Firefighters and Police

No matter how amusing or curious the protocol of this dialogue might seem at first glance, the practical consequences of such actions can be of a fatal nature. When emergency service lines are irresponsibly occupied by extraneous conversations or hoaxes, this inevitably leads to a dangerous delay in processing real calls, upon the timeliness of whose acceptance the lives and health of citizens directly depend.

Because of this, large monetary fines are stipulated for such offenses, and in exceptional cases, the law allows for a strict punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term of up to two years. Modern technical complexes make it possible to quickly and unerringly establish the identity of any telephone violator.

Social Consequences of the Incident

This incident clearly illustrates the need to increase civic responsibility among the population. Such incidents should not be perceived by society as a harmless curiosity, since they divert the resources of operational services from rescuing citizens. Ensuring the stable operation of emergency lines requires not only strict compliance with legal norms but also the realization by every person of the consequences of their actions.
