Now 76 years old, the musician began his career in 1969 with the founding of the band The Commodores in Detroit. The group gained widespread recognition in 1971 as the opening act for the legendary Jackson Five. Among The Commodores’ most successful songs are “Easy,” “Three Times a Lady,” and “Still.” Richie left the band in the early 1980s and began an exceptionally successful solo career.

With the duet “Endless Love” alongside Diana Ross, he achieved a worldwide number-one hit in 1981. In the following years, he topped the charts with numerous titles, including “Truly,” “All Night Long,” “Hello,” and “Say You, Say Me.” The latter, featured in the film White Nights, earned him an Oscar in 1986.

“On stage, he was most recently seen during the ‘Sing a Song All Night Long’ tour in 2023 and at his regular shows at the Wynn Encore Theater in Las Vegas,” reported Olympiapark on its website. Next year, Richie will return to European stages – performing in the Olympiahalle exactly ten years after his last concert in Munich. Musical guest Iggy Kelly will join him on stage.
