Tuner Scene Had Gathered Earlier in Ulm
The incident began on Saturday evening in the city of Ulm, where several hundred individuals from the so-called “car poser scene” assembled. The meeting had been prearranged through social media platforms, attracting large crowds eager to showcase their heavily modified vehicles. In a coordinated effort with the city of Ulm, police officers conducted inspections starting Saturday evening, checking around 300 vehicles and approximately 500 people. A police helicopter was deployed to monitor the situation from the air.
Wide Range of Offenses Detected, Several Vehicles Taken Off the Road
During the operation, police discovered numerous violations. Around 20 drivers are now facing charges for various administrative offenses. Six vehicles were found to have serious technical defects and were immediately taken off the road. Additionally, approximately 30 individuals were fined for unlawfully entering restricted areas of the city, violating a general administrative order issued by Ulm.
Noise Complaints Escalated in Memmingen and Altenstadt
Following the strict enforcement in Ulm, participants relocated further south during the night. Police reported that up to 1,000 people gathered in parking areas in Memmingen and Altenstadt. These locations saw a surge in loud and disruptive “scene-typical activities,” including car exhibitions, tire burnouts, excessive engine revving, and loud music. Law enforcement officers responded with a strong presence and continued checks well into the early morning. Several vehicles were seized and numerous infractions documented.
Traffic Accidents on A7 During Event Travel
Multiple traffic accidents occurred during the journey to Altenstadt. Several rear-end collisions were recorded on the A7 motorway, caused by participants en route to the gatherings. Several vehicles were damaged, and three individuals sustained minor injuries.
Police Forces From Two States Involved in the Operation
The operation included officers from various departments of the Police Headquarters Swabia South/West, supported by units from neighboring Baden-Württemberg. The goal was to restore public safety and prevent further noise disturbances and traffic hazards.
