Leading the charge this year is the Olympiasee Open-Air Cinema, which opened on May 15. The venue offers two screenings daily: an early show at 6 p.m. and a main screening at 9 p.m., both designed for adult audiences.

Families are not left out — on weekends and public holidays, the venue hosts daytime programming tailored for children and families. These sessions feature a mix of films and live shows. Kino, Mond & Sterne Returns to Westpark in June

One of Munich’s most atmospheric venues, the Seebühne in Westpark, will once again transform into a lakeside cinema starting June 19. Though the full program has yet to be announced, organizers have introduced a new feature: the 2025 season will adopt a beer garden format. Guests are invited to bring their own food, although drinks must be purchased on-site. The season runs until September 13.

Königsplatz Pop-Up Cinema Offers Short-Term Experience in July

From July 9 to 20, a temporary outdoor cinema will operate at Munich’s historic Königsplatz. Situated in the heart of the city, this short-run venue promises a unique urban movie experience. Details on the film selection and ticket prices will be announced soon by the organizers.

Classic Drive-In Vibes at Aschheim

For a nostalgic cinema experience, the drive-in at Aschheim is already underway. Located northeast of the city, it features weekday screenings starting around 9:30 p.m., with additional midnight shows on weekends. Ticket prices average €10, with discounted rates starting at around €7 on Mondays. The current schedule is available online, and no advance parking reservation is required.
