Man Seriously Injured in Munich Stabbing as Police Investigate Attempted Homicide

A 26-year-old man sustained serious injuries in a stabbing incident that occurred on the evening of April 19 in Munich’s Ludwigsvorstadt district.

The police have launched an investigation into an attempted homicide and are appealing to the public for any information that might aid in identifying the attackers.

According to reports from the Munich police, the victim was walking along Schillerstraße when he was approached by three unknown individuals. The assailants demanded his mobile phone and threatened him with a knife. Despite their attempt to seize the phone, the man resisted and managed to escape briefly.

However, the attackers pursued him, caught up, and assaulted him again. During the altercation, two more unidentified individuals joined the scene. These additional assailants held the victim down, allowing the others to continue the physical attack.

Passersby who witnessed the scene intervened and confronted the group, prompting the attackers to flee. Witnesses also contacted emergency services. A police search was launched immediately, but the suspects have so far evaded capture.

The victim suffered multiple stab wounds to his torso and legs. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, though police later confirmed that his injuries were not life-threatening. The man has since been discharged from medical care.

Munich’s Criminal Police Division 11 took over the case during the night of the incident. Forensic teams were deployed to secure evidence at the crime scene to help reconstruct the events leading up to the attack. The motive behind the violent act remains unclear.

Authorities are now seeking witnesses. Anyone who was in the vicinity of Schillerstraße, Zweigstraße, Adolf-Kolping-Straße, or Schlosserstraße on Saturday evening and may have noticed suspicious activity is urged to contact Munich Police Headquarters, Division 11, at 089/2910-0, or reach out to any local police station.
