For pedestrians in the Ludwigsvorstadt district, strict movement rules will be introduced. City services emphasize that these measures are dictated exclusively by considerations of safety in the zone of operation of heavy construction equipment and assembly brigades.
In connection with the beginning of complex assembly works, the territory of the Theresienwiese will officially transition into the mode of a protected construction object. According to information from the Munich city services, the arrangement of the infrastructure will begin on Monday, June 29. Out of considerations of safety, the presence of outside persons on the site is strictly prohibited; however, right up until August 25, limited possibilities for crossing the territory along specially designated corridors will be preserved for pedestrians. This will allow to minimize inconveniences for residents of nearby quarters accustomed to using the Theresienwiese for daily strolls and transit.

In the period from June 29 to August 2 inclusive, Matthias-Pschorr-Straße street will completely close for movement on the section between the monumental statue of Bavaria and Schaustellerstraße street. Pedestrians will be able to cross the venue in the direction from north to south along Schaustellerstraße street only starting from October 22, after the dismantling of the main structures. According to reports from the Munich city services, depending on the factual paces of conducting construction and dismantling works, specialists will try to open movement along Schaustellerstraße street earlier than the specified date.
The introduction of staged restrictions on the Theresienwiese is an annual legal and logistical practice allowing to combine large-scale construction processes with the everyday needs of pedestrians.
