This year, the district continued its scholarship initiative by financing the education of two students at the Semmelweis University Faculty of Medicine in Budapest. The program covered semester fees of €9,340 for the entire six-year study period, as well as one-time application and enrollment fees.
“Ensuring medical care has become one of the central tasks for the coming years. By supporting medical education, we have invested early in qualified personnel for our district,” emphasized District Administrator (Landrat) Hans Reichhart. At the end of the year, scholarship holders from the Günzburg district were able to begin their medical studies in Budapest for the third time. The application deadline ran until April 15. For program participants, tuition costs—which at the time amounted to €9,340 per semester—were fully covered for all six years of study. Application fees (€250) and registration fees (€230) were also paid for by the district.
What Were the Requirements for Candidates?
According to the district administration, the conditions for receiving the scholarship included holding a university entrance qualification (Abitur), a valid residence permit for the Federal Republic of Germany, and sufficient knowledge of the German language. Furthermore, a connection between the candidate and the Günzburg district was encouraged. A selection committee chose the recipients based on established criteria. Additionally, applicants had to meet the entry requirements of Semmelweis University in Budapest.

According to the press release, applications were submitted via a contact form on the district website. Documents, including a letter of motivation and transcripts, could be uploaded until April 15.
