Nighttime Disruptions on Munich’s S-Bahn Main Line Announced Until December Due to Construction at Ostbahnhof

Deutsche Bahn has advised all passengers to check for alternative travel options and potential delays in advance and to adjust their travel plans accordingly.

Deutsche Bahn has announced extensive overnight construction works at Munich’s Ostbahnhof, scheduled to take place on selected nights until December 2025. These works will significantly impact S-Bahn operations on the central main line between Ostbahnhof and Pasing, with many lines running only partially or being suspended altogether. The construction activities will occur each time between 21:20 and 4:40.

The following nights are affected by the construction:

  • Monday to Tuesday, July 28–29, 2025
  • Monday to Tuesday, August 18–19, 2025
  • Monday to Tuesday, September 8–9, 2025
  • Monday to Tuesday, November 10–11, 2025
  • Monday to Tuesday, December 1–2, 2025

During these periods, only one S-Bahn line will operate continuously along the route between Ostbahnhof and Pasing. All other lines will be rerouted, shortened, or partially suspended. The S7 will not be affected by the changes, as it has no longer been routed through the main line since its schedule adjustment.
