Search Efforts Ongoing as of 2:14 p.m.
Rescue teams have continued extensive search operations on and around the lake. Units from the Water Rescue Service, local fire departments, and the police have been deployed, along with divers and numerous volunteers. According to the Upper Bavaria South Police Headquarters, the missing individuals are a 34-year-old father and his six-year-old son.

In an earlier statement released by the police operations center, officials confirmed that a serious swimming accident had taken place at Eibsee, triggering a large-scale emergency response. The official message read as follows:
“A major rescue operation is currently underway at Eibsee involving numerous emergency personnel and police forces. According to initial reports, a family of four was on a pedal boat when one of the children fell into the water and submerged. The father immediately jumped in to try and save his son but also disappeared beneath the surface. Search operations for both missing individuals are ongoing, with substantial resources deployed.”
Numerous emergency workers are active both on the lake and along its shoreline, coordinating the rescue operation. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident, as well as updates on the progress of the search, are still being determined.
