MUNICH. From December 14, a new MVV timetable will take effect in the Munich district, bringing numerous innovations for passengers and schoolchildren. According to a report by Merkur correspondent Charlotte Borst, new route directions, more frequent intervals, and improved connections with the S-Bahn will be introduced.
Several bus lines will operate only from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM starting December 14. Late in the evening, they will be replaced by the on-demand FLEX service.
The centrobus line 55 will run every 10 minutes on weekdays from September 2026, meeting the needs of the new gymnasium (high school) in Putzbrunn.
New stops will be added, including “Am Sportpark” in Unterhaching, as well as “Schulcampus” and “Gewerbegebiet” in Aschheim.
Improved Connections to the S-Bahn and New Departure Times
Those who regularly use buses in the Munich district should mark December 14 on their calendars. On this day, the new MVV timetable will take effect, featuring numerous adjustments primarily aimed at improving links to the S-Bahn network. Another goal is to provide optimal transport service for new school and commercial facilities, according to the district administration.
Some lines, including X204, 225, and the FLEX 2100 line, will have new departure times to ensure smoother transfers. At the same time, lines 224, 225, and 227 in the area of Unterhaching, Taufkirchen, and Oberhaching will operate only from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM starting December 14. Late in the evening and at night, they will be replaced by the on-demand FLEX service, which transports passengers flexibly to their destination.
New Stops and Renamed Stops
New stops will be added as part of the network expansion. In Unterhaching, there will be a stop called “Am Sportpark.” The regional bus line 234 from Messestadt-West (U-Bahn station) to Unterföhring (S-Bahn station) will also stop in Aschheim at “Schulcampus” and “Gewerbegebiet” starting April 1, 2026. Lines 453 and 455 will additionally serve the “Matrosensiedlung” stop in Putzbrunn from April 1.
Existing stops will be partially renamed. For instance, the stop “Unterhaching, Sportplatz” will be renamed “Freibad” (Open-Air Pool), and the stop “Garching, Ludwig-Prantl-Straße” will become “Anna-Boysen-Straße.”
10-Minute Intervals and Additional School Buses
Regular passengers will welcome a particular improvement: centrobus line 55 will run every 10 minutes on weekdays from September 2026—perfectly coordinated with the new gymnasium in Putzbrunn, which will open in the fall. Some line numbers will also change: line 531 from the Ismaning S-Bahn station to the Erding S-Bahn station will become line 513. The change is necessary due to the expansion of the integrated fare zone.
Another new feature for schoolchildren is that line 972 (previously 904) will offer an additional trip at 1:00 PM from Starnberg-Nord in the direction of Hohenschäftlarn to ease school traffic.
All new timetables and mini-schedules are available exclusively online. Printed materials will no longer be distributed. Information can be downloaded at the following link: https://www.mvv-muenchen.de/plaene-bahnhoefe/mvv-minifahrplaene/index.html.
