The police have established the identity of the woman whose body was found on Thursday in a wooded area near Neuried, close to Munich. The deceased has been identified as a 34-year-old woman who was a permanent resident of Munich, as reported by the Police Department.
The cause of death has not yet been released by the police. A spokesperson for the authority cited the ongoing investigation. Previously, police had stated that the circumstances under which the body was found indicated a violent death. The criminal police have taken over the investigation.
A witness discovered the body on Thursday in Forstenrieder Park. In order to identify the woman, the police, among other measures, initiated a public appeal and released post-mortem photographs.
