Despite the fact that the project’s financial situation remains extremely tense, the organizers have confirmed the dates of the event. The celebration, which has become traditional for the region, will once again gather guests to prove that even in conditions of strict economy, art is capable of uniting generations and creating a unique atmosphere.
This year, the festival will mark its fourteenth opening and will last ten days — from May 8 to 17. The program, timed to the Ascension holiday, promises to be intensive: the organizers invite residents of the city and the entire region to dive into a world of music, culture, and gastronomic discoveries. As indicated in the press release of the new management team under Lemarr Bakai and coordinator Joseph Berger, the main task remains preserving the spirit of the festival as a space for dancing, discussions, and live human communication right in the heart of nature.
New concept and volunteer spirit at Luitpoldanlage
According to development plans, the Luitpoldanlage territory will once again turn into a large-scale and colorful tent city. This season, guests can expect an updated stage concept and more than seventy thematic stands at the Market of Opportunities. Special attention is paid to family recreation: educational games and creative workshops are provided in a special children’s zone. The musical background will be provided by DJs and groups known at both the regional and pan-German levels.
An important feature of the current year was the change of management — the project was headed by a young and ambitious group of professionals. Relying on the rich experience of their predecessors, the new organizers strive to bring fresh creative impulses while maintaining high standards of quality and comfort. Notably, entry to all festival venues will remain free, and the operation of the infrastructure will largely rely on the enthusiasm of volunteers. The center of attraction will still be the legendary carousel with non-alcoholic beer, surrounded by hospitable beer gardens.
Struggle for the budget: crowdfunding and economy measures
The issue of funding remains the most acute for the organizing committee. The financial gap faced by the project is characterized as huge. To minimize costs and ensure a sustainable future for Uferlos, targeted economy measures had to be taken, including the refusal to install one of the large tents. The main bet is placed on the support of the public and sponsors. Currently, more than 18,500 euros have been raised through the crowdfunding platform; a significant contribution was also made by the Abseits association (10,000 euros), while the city of Freising as the main partner allocated a subsidy of 80,000 euros.
Festival head Lemarr Bakai emphasized that the team is grateful for every donation. An important incentive for patrons is the possibility of receiving a receipt for a tax deduction, which will be issued after the completion of all events. Fundraising on the Startnext website will continue until the middle of the festival marathon, giving everyone a chance to contribute to the preservation of the city’s cultural heritage.
Musical mix and sustainability tent
The musical program promises to impress with a variety of genres. In the large circus tent and the cozy coffee tent, pop music will sit alongside rock, and hip-hop rhythms will give way to house sets. Among the confirmed participants are groups such as Boppin B, Schein, and Raketenumschau, as well as performers Auer Voices and Luka Blau. One of the main innovations will be the Shelter stage venue, focused on supporting youth subculture.The environmental agenda will not remain without attention either. The well-established sustainability tent will continue its work, offering guests lectures on current topics, yoga sessions, and hand-creativity workshops. Thus, Uferlos 2026 strives to become not just a musical holiday but a multifaceted platform for the development of society, despite any economic barriers.
