Organizers have announced a venue change for the 2026 final. The event is relocating from Rust, where it was held for over two decades, to the Bavaria Studios in Grünwald. The new titleholder is scheduled to be selected on March 7, 2026, on the eve of International Women’s Day, as part of a televised show. The TV channel Sixx and the streaming platform Joyn will broadcast the event.
The final will be part of an “Empowerment Festival” focused on careers, networking, and the exchange of experience. “Munich will become the new stage for a final that celebrates exceptional women and makes unique stories visible,” the organizer stated. In recent years, the competition’s concept has been completely overhauled. The project now aims to honor women who take responsibility in society and actively shape the future.
Centennial Anniversary Prompts Move to Munich
The competition was first held in 1927. At that time and for many subsequent decades, it existed as a classic beauty pageant. In 2027, Miss Germany will mark a significant milestone—the project’s 100th anniversary. According to the organizers, this jubilee was one of the reasons for moving the event to Grünwald. They expressed a desire to hold the final in a larger city rather than the quiet town of Rust near Freiburg.
Currently, twelve contestants are competing for the title. These include a biologist from Würzburg who grows human skin in laboratory conditions to minimize animal testing, and a Bundeswehr press officer from Wuppertal. The reigning titleholder is Dr. Valentina Busik, whose interests include working with artificial intelligence and implementing digital technologies in the German healthcare system.
