Munich – Sport and vibrancy are coming to the pedestrian zone: Adidas intends to open a new store in Munich! Our editorial team has learned from market sources that the sports giant plans to move into the former C&A building on Kaufingerstraße, which is currently being transformed into a prestigious shopping complex called AIM.
Adidas, known for its sports shoes, football kits, and balls, among other things, is rumored to be leasing over 2,000 square meters in this notable building. This is a large area that will allow for the creation of a flagship store. Essentially, it will be the company’s own arena for its products, whose headquarters are located in Bavaria (specifically in Herzogenaurach near Nuremberg). The opening could take place in 2027.
Thus, in a way, things have come full circle. After all, the fashion retailer C&A previously moved into the Josef-Pschorr building – which, in turn, became available after the closure of the Sport-Scheck store. Now, just a few meters away, sneakers and other sports goods will replace C&A.
Neighbor: Fashion Chain New Yorker
Another major tenant in the AIM building has been known for some time: the fashion chain New Yorker will set up its flagship store here on approximately 3,500 square meters.
The former C&A building belongs to the INKA group (Inselkammer), meaning it is owned by a Munich family. They are developing this property in collaboration with the specialists from Accumulata.
