His mother reported him missing shortly thereafter, prompting an immediate search operation by local police.
Child Discovered Lifeless in Pool by Property Owner
At nearly the same time the mother alerted authorities, a nearby resident contacted emergency services after discovering the child unresponsive in his backyard swimming pool. The man immediately pulled the boy from the water and began CPR. Paramedics and a doctor arrived within minutes to continue resuscitation efforts, but tragically, they were unable to save him. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pool Partially In-Ground with Over One-Meter Water Depth
According to police, the swimming pool was partially embedded in the ground, with its edge standing about half a meter above the surface. At the time of the incident, the water level was approximately 1.25 meters deep — a fatal hazard for a young child. Investigators have not yet determined exactly how the accident occurred.
Boy Likely Entered Private Property Alone After Leaving Playground
Preliminary findings suggest the child left the playground of his own accord and somehow gained access to the private property where the pool was located. It remains unclear how he entered the fenced area or whether any gates were unsecured. The criminal police unit has launched an investigation to reconstruct the circumstances of the tragedy.
Community in Mourning After Sudden Loss
The sudden death of the young boy has left his family and the Burghausen community in deep mourning. The incident serves as a painful reminder of how quickly everyday moments can turn into devastating tragedies — particularly when it involves unsupervised young children near bodies of water.
