Four-Day Champions Festival Set to Open in Olympiapark
From May 29 to June 1, the Champions Festival in Munich’s Olympiapark will offer a football-themed experience for families and visitors. The city has announced a vibrant schedule blending sport and culture.
The program will include:
- A mini football pitch for fans,
- A photo station featuring the official Champions League trophy,
- A large performance stage on the Olympiasee,
Evening concerts on Thursday and Friday,
Over 30 performances, including the Federal Police Orchestra, Gerry & Gary, Roxxdoxx, and well-known DJs,
The presentation of a large replica of the Champions League trophy known as the “Giant Trophy,”
Activations by official partners and sponsors,
Community engagement through the “We Are All Champions” campaign,
Public viewing of the final on Saturday evening.
Admission to the festival is free. However, depending on the turnout, temporary access restrictions may be enforced, similar to measures planned for UEFA Euro 2024.
Fan Zones at Odeonsplatz and Königsplatz Open on Match Day
In addition to the Olympiapark, two designated fan areas will be set up at Odeonsplatz and Königsplatz. These spaces will serve as central meeting points for supporters of the final’s teams, local residents, and football enthusiasts without tickets.
The City of Munich emphasizes that everyone is welcome. These areas will feature food stalls, entertainment, and creative contributions related to the “We Are All Champions” initiative. Both fan zones will be open exclusively on May 31 and are free to enter.
Honoring Everyday Heroes Through “We Are All Champions”
The “We Are All Champions” campaign will spotlight individuals who make exceptional contributions in daily life. Throughout Munich—including the Olympiapark and the two fan zones—various installations and events will highlight social themes such as:
Diversity and inclusion,
- Girls’ football,
- eSports,
- School and community projects,
- Art and culture,
- Fair play and fan engagement,
- Creativity and courage.
People can nominate themselves or others to be featured as part of the tribute campaign.
Legends Match at SAP Garden with Global Football Icons
On May 30, the SAP Garden arena will host the “Ultimate Tournament,” a friendly competition between international football legends. Scheduled to participate are former stars like Luís Figo, Cafu, and Lothar Matthäus. The matches will be team-based, and access requires a purchased ticket.
Linkin Park to Perform at Champions League Final Opening Show
The final itself will be preceded by a major musical performance. The US rock band Linkin Park has been confirmed as the headliner for the official Kick Off Show at the Allianz Arena. Their set will feature a blend of recent tracks and iconic hits from their repertoire.
Munich Boosts Public Transit Ahead of Final
With tens of thousands of visitors expected, the Munich Transport Corporation (MVG) will operate additional train services throughout the city. Starting at midday on May 31, enhanced public transportation will help ensure smooth travel for fans heading to the stadium and festival sites.
