As the first rays of sunshine return, the Nuremberg Spring Folk Festival is preparing to open with several innovations that organizers call a traditional comeback. Furthermore, in 2026, the spring festivities will be held in an extended format for the first time.
Last year, the spring festival went without a classic festival tent. Instead, entrepreneur Robert Förster, together with the Dinkel family (owners of the Frankendorf and Bratwurst Rößlein establishments), installed their Stad’l — a two-story wooden house with an 80-square-meter terrace. In 2026, the situation will change: an old acquaintance is returning to its place.
Traditional return to the Nuremberg Spring Festival 2026
The Papert festival tent is returning to the spring festival as a traditional gastronomic enterprise, the organizers of the Nuremberg Folk Festivals announced in an official statement. Although in retrospect the attractions, Stad’l, and concert program ensured an influx of visitors, a void was felt in the festival structure. The joy is all the greater that with the Papert tent, a truly traditional enterprise will once again be part of the Nuremberg Spring Festival, the organizers emphasized.
It is expected that the return of the tent will further increase the attractiveness of the holiday. Folk festival lovers will again be able to count on live music.
Nuremberg Spring Festival will be held in XXL format for the first time with new attractions
Good news awaits families and lovers of festivals full of energy: instead of the usual two weeks, the Nuremberg Spring Festival this time will last a full three weeks. The start is scheduled for April 4, 2026.
In terms of content, the festival will remain true to its line: a wide selection of gastronomic points and attractions is planned. Regarding the latter, the organizer announced novelties on their Instagram page. The premiere will be Hero Fighter from the Grauberger family of hereditary attraction owners from Fürth; previously, this object was already presented at the Michaeliskirchweih in Fürth. Those who dare to enter will rise to a height of 22 meters on four gondolas at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour. Hannes Grauberger and his wife Nicole invested 1.2 million euros in this project, as previously reported by NN.de.Also, for adrenaline lovers, the Rio Rapido water slide and the Dr. Archibald – Master of Time VR adventure attraction, which premiered at Oktoberfest in 2019, will be installed. This construction is a combination of an interactive labyrinth and a horror room.
