Fire Department Operation Diverts Bus Route
Due to a fire department operation in the Erich-Ollenhauer-Straße area, VAG reports the following until approximately 10:30 am:
Bus line 31 towards Herrnnhütte is taking a diverted route between Rotfuchsstraße and Boxdorf via Mosäckerstraße.
In the opposite direction, line 31 is running its normal route and serving all stops.
Construction Work Affects U2 and U3 Lines
From November 24th to 27th, construction work will take place between the Opernhaus and Hauptbahnhof (Main Station) stops. Each day from 9:00 PM until the end of service, this will affect U2 and U3 subway lines.
The U2 line towards Röthenbach will run on a different track between Hauptbahnhof and Opernhaus.
The U3 line will only operate between Großreuth and Rothenburger Straße, and between Nordwestring and Rathenauplatz.
Stations between Rothenburger Straße and Rathenauplatz will not be served. Passengers need to transfer to the U2 line.
VAG advises passengers to pay attention to platform and train indicators, as well as loudspeaker announcements.
Delays on U2 Line
Due to a triggered safety system near Nordostbahnhof, delays are possible on the U2 line in both directions between Röthenbach and the Airport until approximately 9:45 am.
Traffic Accident Disrupts Three Tram Lines
Following a traffic accident near Platz der Opfer des Faschismus, disruptions on several tram lines are expected until approximately 6:15 pm:
Line 6 is only running between Westfriedhof and Dutzendteich. Stops between Dokuzentrum and Dutzendteich are not served.
Line 8 is only running between Hauptbahnhof and Schweigerstraße and on to Dutzendteich. Stops between Dokuzentrum and Schweigerstraße are not served. VAG has arranged for a replacement taxi service between Dokuzentrum and Schweigerstraße.
Line 10 is additionally only running between Am Wegfeld and Scharrerstraße. Stops between Dutzendteich and Scharrerstraße are canceled.
Another Accident Causes Disruptions
Due to a traffic accident near Gibitzenhof, VAG passengers should expect schedule changes until approximately 10:00 pm:
Line 4 is only running between Am Wegfeld and Landgrabenstraße and on to Kirstuskirche. Stops between Gibitzenhof and Landgrabenstraße are not served. A replacement taxi service is arranged between Gibitzenhof and Plärrer. VAG recommends using bus line 68 between Gibitzenhof and Bremstraße.
Delays are also possible on line 10 in both directions between Dutzendteich and Am Wegfeld.
Line 11 is only running between Tiergarten and Heynestraße and on to Plärrer. Stops between Gibitzenhof and Heynestraße are not served. A replacement taxi service is also arranged here, and using line 68 is recommended.
Buses and Subways Affected by Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Disposal
Public transport is also affected by an evacuation related to a WWII bomb disposal operation.
Bus lines 46/47 (Rathaus – Martha-Maria Hospital and Forchheimer Straße, respectively) and 35 (Röthenbach – Nordostbahnhof) will face restrictions. Delays are also possible on line 37.
Furthermore, travel on the western section of the U3 subway line (Großreuth bei Schweinau – Nordwestring) must be suspended for the disposal. The U3 will only run to Rathenauplatz. Travel between Rathenauplatz and Nordwestring is not possible.
Evacuation by Bus: Stops in Nuremberg
The evacuation will begin around 8:00 PM. VAG is providing several shuttle buses. Stops are located at:

The buses will take affected residents to the school center on Berliner Platz, where a help center has been set up.
Increased Service on U1 Line for Holiday Season
To handle the pre-Christmas rush, VAG is increasing service on the U1 line on Advent weekends.
On Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, trains on the U2 line in the city center will run twice as frequently.
On Sundays, the U2 between Eberhardshof and Messe will also run with doubled frequency.
Delays on Bus Line 58
Due to a construction site near Maybachstraße, delays are possible in both directions between Frankenstraße and Wachholderweg until approximately 11:00 AM.
Vehicle Malfunction near Gibitzenhof
Line 4 is only running between Am Wegfeld and Plärrer until approximately 9:00 PM. Stops between Gibitzenhof and Plärrer are not served. A replacement taxi service is arranged. Passengers are advised to use line 68 between Gibitzenhof and Bremstraße.
Delays are possible on line 10 in both directions between Dutzendteich and Am Wegfeld.
Line 11 is only running between Tiergarten and Heynestraße and on to Plärrer. Stops between Gibitzenhof and Heynestraße are not served. A replacement taxi service is also arranged here.
Accident Slows Tram Lines 5 and 11
Due to an accident near Löchnerstraße, schedule changes are expected until approximately 7:15 PM:
Line 5 is only running between Worzeldorfer Straße and Tiergarten and on to Schöhrlstraße. Stops between Tiergarten and Marientunnel are not served. A replacement taxi service is arranged between Tiergarten and Hauptbahnhof. Passengers can use bus line 43 between Business Tower and Hauptbahnhof, and line 45 between Tiergarten and Megeldorf.
Line 11 is only running between Gibitzenhof and Marientunnel and on to Schöhrlstraße. Stops between Tiergarten and Marientunnel are not served. A replacement taxi service is also arranged here between Tiergarten and Hauptbahnhof.
Delays Due to Heavy Traffic Affecting Several Bus Lines
Currently, delays are occurring on three bus lines due to heavy traffic near Heinemabrücke. Lines 35, 45, and 65 are affected. These restrictions are expected to last until approximately 8:00 PM.
Closure for Christmas Market: Bus Routes to Change from Sunday
From Sunday, bus line 36 (Plärrer – Dokuzentrum) and night route N11 (Nuremberg Main Station – city limit) will be diverted in the area of Nuremberg’s Hauptmarkt. At the weekend, from 8:00 AM, the lines will detour via Sebalder Platz and Winkelsstraße between the Burgstraße and Weintraubengasse stops due to preparations for the Christmas Market.
VAG has set up a temporary stop for the ‘Hauptmarkt’ on Augustinerstraße in both directions. These changes are in effect until Monday, January 12, 2026.

Line 5 is currently only running between Worzeldorfer Straße and Megeldorf. Stops between Tiergarten and Megeldorf are not served.
Line 11 is only running between Gibitzenhof and Megeldorf. Stops between Tiergarten and Megeldorf are not served.
A replacement taxi service has been arranged between Tiergarten and Megeldorf. VAG also recommends using bus line 45 between Tiergarten and Megeldorf.
