On Sunday, November 11, the dog escaped in the Unterbachern area of the Bergkirchen municipality in the Dachau district, boarded a local train, and rode it to Schwabhausen. There, police officers managed to catch her and return her to her owner. The Dachau police inspectorate responsible for the area reported this unusual incident.
Bribed with a Sausage
According to the report, four-year-old Bella—a mix of Beagle, Labrador, and Collie—escaped from her home garden in Unterbachern during the day and simply boarded a train to Schwabhausen at the nearest station.
Upon arrival, Bella wandered around a supermarket parking lot, where passersby noticed the freely roaming dog and tried to catch her. When this failed, police were called around 3:30 PM.
Officers eventually encountered the dog on Weidenstraße, where she had entered a garden. There, according to police, she “was successfully bribed by an officer armed with a sausage”—ultimately allowing the officer to put a leash on Bella.
Using the Tasso pet database system, the officers located the owner, who gratefully retrieved her dog.
