Pedestrian Dead in Accident with Tram

Munich – In a tragic accident involving a tram in Munich, a pedestrian lost his life on Monday evening.

The 47-year-old man was struck by a tram on Landsberger Straße and sustained fatal injuries.

Man Dies in Tram Accident on Landsberger Straße in Munich

The man was crossing the tracks near the Augustiner Bräustuben around 8:05 PM when a tram on line 18, heading towards Bayerstraße, approached. The reason why the victim was crossing to the other side of Landsberger Straße at that location is still unclear.

According to Munich police, the tram driver immediately initiated an emergency brake upon seeing the pedestrian and sounded the warning signal. However, he could no longer prevent a collision.

Man Succumbs to Severe Injuries – Police Investigation Underway

The 47-year-old suffered the most severe injuries in the accident and died at the scene. The circumstances leading to the fatal incident are now the subject of a police investigation. As part of clarifying the sequence of events, an expert will also be consulted.

The emergency response caused massive traffic disruptions on Landsberger Straße. This incident comes just days after a tram derailed in Munich, injuring several people.

Landsberger Straße is one of the main arterial roads in Munich, running parallel to the main S-Bahn line from Pasinger Marienplatz to Bayerstraße, which leads to the main train station.
