Update, 10:29 a.m.: New details from the Aicher Ambulance service: As a spokesperson reported by phone, the deceased is a man approximately 60 years old who was found lifeless “in the area behind the Ferris wheel.” The ambulance was called at 6:13 a.m., and “we were there four minutes later.” Personnel then unsuccessfully attempted to resuscitate the man on the Wiesn. It appears to be a case of cardiac arrest, the ambulance service added. Further background details are still unclear.

Update, 10:21 a.m.: As Munich police explained to our editorial team, the deceased is a middle-aged man. He was reportedly an employee of a showman’s business. The Aicher Ambulance service had attempted to resuscitate him. The investigation is ongoing.

According to initial information, this is not a homicide.
