The air is filled with the scent of roasted almonds, wood smoke, and hot apple punch. Starting November 28, 2025, the castle will once again transform into a fairytale setting on all four Advent weekends – inspired by the stories of the Brothers Grimm.
Visitors can expect a blend of medieval ambiance, traditional crafts, and culinary classics. Those strolling through the extensive grounds by torchlight will encounter glassblowers, woodturners, and artisans, while music plays by the market stalls and children listen to storytellers recounting fairy tales.
Gourmet Cheese Fondue at the Castle – With a Price Increase
A special highlight again this year is the cheese fondue in the castle’s Bräustüberl. The candlelit menu has become a beloved classic of the Kaltenberg Christmas Market. However, visitors will have to pay a bit more this year compared to 2024.
The three-course menu now costs €55.80 per person (children up to twelve pay €27.90) – an increase of around six euros from the previous year. It begins with an aromatic beef consommé, followed by a creamy winter cheese fondue with various sides: light and dark baguette, cornichons, Borettane onions, antipasti vegetables, sweet and sour pumpkin, red onion marmalade, and a small platter of bacon and smoked meat. A chocolate muffin with punch-soaked fruits provides a sweet finish.
The fondue can only be booked for groups of four or more and must be reserved and paid for in advance. Please note: Admission to the Christmas market is not included in the menu price and must be paid separately.
