The program includes vocal numbers and performances of folk music. Spectators will also see demonstrations of Chinese martial arts, a traditional mask-changing show, and dragon and lion dances. In addition, traditional crafts will be presented on the square, and guests will be offered national treats such as fried noodles and spicy skewers.
The Year of the Horse began on February 17. This is one of the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac, which is part of the traditional lunar calendar. It is believed that people born in the year of the Horse are distinguished by energy, sociability, optimism, activity, and independence.The organizers are the Chinese Trade Association of Bavaria, the Chinese Association of Artists of Bavaria, and the Chinese Youth Association of Germany. The Chinese School of Ingolstadt, the Audi Confucius Institute in Ingolstadt, and the Bach Cultural and Art Association (Germany) are also participating in the preparation. Support for the celebration was provided by the Consulate General of the PRC in Munich and the Chinese Center of Ingolstadt.
