According to police reports, the family of four from Baden-Württemberg made a pit stop at a gas station along the A8 highway near Holzkirchen. While there, the younger of their two sons went to use the restroom. However, the parents accidentally continued their journey with only one child—the older brother, who had been sleeping in the car.

About half an hour later, the parents realized only one son was still in the car. When they called the police, they were immediately reassured: the forgotten boy had already approached the gas station staff, who had then notified officers.
The Boy’s Chill Reaction
Police picked up the 10-year-old in their patrol car and took him to the station, where his parents later collected him unharmed. The boy’s reaction stood out—officers said he took the unusual situation “in stride.” Police emphasized that the child was never in any danger.
