The event kicks off on Friday, September 5. Here’s what to expect from the program and how it will affect local public transport.
Munich – Concerts, art, culture: The Isarinselfest is a lively street festival for all ages. It takes place from Friday, September 5, to Sunday, September 7, along Steinsdorfstraße by the banks of the Isar, stretching between the Maximilian Bridge and the Ludwig Bridge. The festival is organized by the Isarinselfest Association.
Music, Dance, and Family-Friendly Entertainment
From pop and rock to jazz, the program offers something for every musical taste, spread across four stages. On Prater Island, visitors will find a “Latina Corner,” while the Kulturstrand beneath the Ludwig Bridge will feature live DJ sets. Dance enthusiasts can join in too: Zumba classes will be held on Friday at Prater Island, while Saturday offers the chance to try Bachata.
Food, Fun, and Free Entry
In addition to music, the festival includes children’s entertainment, fortune-teller performances, and even a church service at the portal of St. Luke’s Church. Local clubs and initiatives will be presenting themselves at booths, and food trucks will ensure plenty of culinary options. The full program is available on the organizer’s website. Entry to the Isarinselfest is free of charge.
Transport Disruptions and Closures
There are no parking spaces available for cars at the festival – but bicycle parking is provided. “The festival takes place in a protected natural area,” the organizers note on their website. Public transport will remain available but will be affected by diversions.
SEV16 replacement bus and bus line 132 will be rerouted.
SEV16 will not stop at Lehel and Mariannenplatz but will serve Maxmonument.
Bus 132 will skip Ludwigsbrücke.
Tram passengers can use Mariannenplatz or Maxmonument stops.
