Known for hits like “I sing a Liad für di,” “Hulapalu,” and “Amoi seg’ ma uns wieder,” the singer is expected to draw large crowds and create a festive atmosphere. However, the concert will also cause significant disruptions to local traffic, particularly affecting Munich’s bus services operated by the Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG).
Road Closures and Bus Detours Around Königsplatz
To accommodate the setup, execution, and dismantling of the event, the area surrounding Königsplatz will be closed off, resulting in rerouted bus lines and temporary stop changes. According to MVG, the affected routes will be diverted from approximately 6:00 a.m. on Saturday until the end of service that day.
Affected Bus Lines:
CityRing 58/68 and Museum Line 100:
The “Königsplatz” stop will be canceled in both directions.
The “Technische Universität” stop will not be served when heading toward Hauptbahnhof.
In the direction of Ostbahnhof, the “Elisenstraße” stop will be relocated to the SEV stop “Hauptbahnhof Nord,” located just east of the Elisenstraße/Dachauer Straße intersection.
Replacement Buses for Tram Lines 27 and N27:
These will be rerouted between Karlsplatz (Stachus) and the Pinakotheken.
The “Ottostraße” and “Karolinenplatz” stops will be skipped in both directions.
MVG is informing passengers about these changes via posted notices at stops, live ticker updates, audio announcements, and its digital platforms. Travelers can find the latest service updates and schedule information on the MVG website and through the MVGO app.
